Daniela Hantuchova
They say perfection in a profession starts early. This is a fact that
Daniela Hantuchova understood early as she rose up to her current
success in the tennis career. Born in 23rd of April 1983 to a computer
scientist father, Igor and Toxicologist mother, Mrs. Marianna, Daniela
Hantuchova qualified for the university entry but declined to pursue her
career in Tennis.

She is sister to Vinniella Hanuchova, who was a tennis champion in Alor
setar hence her role model. However, in spite of her commitment to her
career in Tennis, Daniela Hantuchova performance drastically declined,
though temporarily, in 2003 after her parents separated. She suffered a
lot, grieving this on the court hence going down to position 81 in the
world. She even suffered from weight problems to an extent she was
accused of being anorexic, a claim that she denied.
Born in Czechoslovakia in 1983 at Poprad, Daniela Hantuchova is
currently a professional tennis player who resides in Monte Carlo in
Monaco. She is 5ft 11 ½ inches with a prize worth of $7,059,872. Her
current coach today is Larri Passos with Martina Navratilova, who was
her double partner temporarily in 2005, being a tour mentor in her WTA.

Daniela Hantuchova in 2002 started at position 38 in the world in the
Gold Coast where she was known as an up coming player. She lost to
Justine Henin. She continued with the struggle and became position 26 in
the world and went to the Indian Wells where she defeated Justine Henin.
She was the lowest ranked player when she won the Tier I event. Through
the years since her rise to glory in 2002, Daniela Hantuchova has been
hardworking and committed to her career, wins and losses being her
motivator through out.
This year (2010) however, Daniela Hantuchova started at Brisbane
International where she was seeded 4th and got upset by being unseeded
by Andrea Petkovic at the quarterfinals. She further went down to number
five seed at Medibank International which was held in Sydney. She seeded
at 22nd in Australia Open and fell further to seed 16th and eventual
semifinalist Li Na in the third round.
In Dubai in 2010, Daniela Hantuchova upset number 5 seed Dementieva to
retirement after wining the 1st set. However, the event was not as
memorable as she fell in the 3rd round to Anastasia Pavyuchenkova.
When it comes to her style in playing tennis, Daniela Hantuchova has
been characterized as being aggressive all-rounder with long and fluid
strokes. Her strong points have been noted to be her serve, forehand,
backhand and her ability to hit the volleys with fluid speed. Due to her
method of playing, she prefers the faster playing grass and hard courts
over the clay courts which are slower.
Every thing has a weakness and this does not exempt Daniela Hantuchova.
Her weaknesses have been noted to be her movement round the court as
well as her mental fragility which has cost her a lot in her previous
matches as well as her career. However, she has notably improved on this
within the last years.
